I am a journalism major and biology minor at American University in Washington, D.C.
I spent the summer interning with Bloomberg BNA on their corporate and transaction news desk and the spring interning with the Durango Herald as their Washington Correspondent. I am about to enter my senior year of college, where I will be working as a Resident Assistant.
I began my career in journalism as a staff writer, then Editor-in-Chief for Scot Scoop News, the online news publication for Carlmont High School. During my two years as Editor-in-Chief, Scot Scoop received the National Scholastic Press Association Online Pacemaker and has since gone on to receive that award again (and many others).
Since then, I have been a columnist for The Eagle, a staff writer for College Magazine and the founder of The Bottom Line. I am also a freelance writer and editor for a variety of publications, including The Washington Post, NBC News, the Hill, the Huffington Post and Media File.
Beyond my journalistic endeavors, I have also worked as a Program Associate and Conference Assistant for American University Housing and Dining Programs, a key holder at The Walking Company and a marketing intern at Road Warrior, LLC. I serve as President of the AU chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am a member of SOC Ambassadors and ReJEWvenate.
